Test Requirements
Written:
- 1 Hr – 25 MCQs on welding processes and safety
Practical:
- 4 Hrs – Welding of structural joints and plates
- Candidates to perform welding using SMAW and/or MIG techniques according to drawing specifications
- Evaluation based on joint preparation, welding position, bead quality, and compliance with safety rules
Scope of Training/Assessment
Written:
- 6 hrs (2 evenings 5.30-8.30pm)
- Principles of electricity and arc welding
- Types of welding processes and equipment
- Welding symbols and drawings
- Material properties and joint design
- Welding defects and prevention
- Testing and inspection methods
- Safety and PPE
Practical:
- 2 days (8.30am-5.30pm)
- Briefing on BCA test project requirements and safety standards
- Hands-on welding for various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical)
- Training on correct electrode selection and arc control
- Inspection and correction of weld defects
