Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:
• Understand the roles and responsibilities of a vehicle and machinery banksman
• Recognize potential hazards during vehicle and machinery movement within worksites
• Apply safe signalling and communication methods between operators and banksmen
• Interpret and use standard hand signals accurately
• Conduct visual checks to ensure work areas are free of obstructions before guiding vehicle movement
• Implement safe systems of work to prevent accidents during reversing, loading, or offloading activities
• Comply with WSH (Traffic Management) and related safety regulations

• Certificate of Achievement issued to participants who successfully complete the course and assessment
• Safety Pass Validity: 3 years

Assumed Attitude, Skills and Knowledge

Learners are assumed to:
• Have basic understanding of workplace operations involving vehicles or machinery
• Be able to communicate effectively in English (ES Level 3 or equivalent)
• Be physically fit for outdoor work activities
• Be at least 18 years of age
